A small golden key. Used to unlock locked doors within interiors or the door to the Cabin on Adamance and is consumed on use.
Despite the scanner identifying them as worth 3, and that attempting to sell one will add 3 to the ledger, this doesn't count towards the total and they are in fact valueless.
The key is made of metal and can trigger lightning strike on a stormy moon.
Strategy[edit]
Employees can take keys back to the ship and bring them during the next day in order to unlock a door in the interior without having to search for another key. If no locked doors come up, the employee can hang onto the key or discard it in favor of a piece of scrap.
When going to a stormy moon, keys that were generated inside the interior can be used effectively as a lightning rod when brought outside, only for that day. This is because keys generate before scrap, and take lightning priority over any items already present on the ship while landing.
