Scientific name: Lacerta-glomerorum
Colloquially named puffers or spore lizards, Lacerta-glomerorum (of the family Alligatoridae) is one of the largest and heaviest reptiles. Despite their large mouths, they are herbivores and do not have a strong bite. The bulbs on their tails are believed to secrete a chemical which attracts and accelerates the growth of the fungus species Lycoperdon perlatum, which it can then shake to release spores as a defense mechanism--an unique example of a mutualistic symbiotic relationship.

Mechanics[edit]
Spore Lizards are passive entities, only attacking employees when threatened or cornered. In their normal state, they will wander the facility, making squelching sounds as they walk. When a Spore Lizard detects an employee from afar, it will stare at them, hissing and rattling its tail. It will then attempt to back away, still looking at the employee as it attempts to break line of sight, before skittering off. If approached too closely, the Spore Lizard will bite the employee and release a cloud of pink spores that limit visibility, giving the Spore Lizard an opportunity to escape.
Strategy[edit]
While the Spore Lizard may come across as intimidating, it most certainly isn't dangerous. It will only attack with a non-lethal bite in very close range, so an employee's best option is to simply respect it and leave it alone. The Spore Lizard will often hiss long before a employee even comes close enough for it to bite, so evading them is usually trivial.
The only real danger of a Spore Lizard presents itself when other wildlife is nearby. A Spore Lizard releasing its spores during a time in which another, much more lethal creature is on the hunt, can pose a serious risk. To avoid this situation, simply take note of the general area a Spore Lizard is wandering in, and try to avoid it when being pursued by more dangerous wildlife.
Due to its sheer retreating speed, an employee can opt to chase down the spore Lizard as it runs after being frightened. This strategy operates similar to the Bracken since the spore Lizard also knows the facility more than the employee. However, unlike the Bracken, the spore Lizard will prioritize spacing itself from you first rather than sprinting through the building, so the employee has to give the spore Lizard room to run away and follow its footsteps after. Also unlike the Bracken strategy, the spore Lizard does not have a favourite room, so following it will lead an employee to random rooms rather than deep rooms, which can be a downside for most. The upside is that a spore Lizard is far, far safer than a Bracken.
