Company Description[edit]
Useful for keeping in touch! Hear other players when the walkie-talkie is in your inventory. Must be in your hand and pressed down to transmit voice.
Overview[edit]
The Walkie-Talkie is used to communicate with co-workers beyond the proximity chat radius. It can transmit both voice and text (using the in-game chat) when activated. A very useful item, especially if your unit breaks up to cover a larger area. A fully charged walkie-talkie lasts for 820 seconds when turned on.
Strategy[edit]
The walkie-talkie allows players to split up while maintaining communication. Another common strategy is for a player to remain in The Ship and use the monitor and Computer Terminal to warn and aid players who are out gathering Scrap.
A fully charged walkie-talkie will last longer than an entire day on a moon, the day being 11 minutes and the walkie-talkie's battery being about 13 minutes. Players with a walkie-talkie that is fully charged at the start of a day can use the battery meter to keep track of time while inside the facility, eg. 50% is roughly 5:00 PM.
If someone with a walkie-talkie dies while having it on it will produce static on others walkie-talkies.
Trivia[edit]
While the log "Screams" hints at an easter egg with the Walkie-talkie on Gordion, there doesn't appear to be one as of v64.
